IT Security Awareness : Protect Yourself from Phishing Attacks
Dear all,
As part of IT ongoing commitment to maintaining a secure JUMBO digital environment, we will be sending regular communication to raise awareness about an ever-present cybersecurity threat. In this edition, we will be talking about phishing attacks.
Phishing attacks are attempts by cybercriminals to deceive individuals into sharing sensitive information, such as passwords, credit card details, or confidential company data. These attacks often come in the form of deceptive emails, links, or messages that appear legitimate. Here are some essential tips to help you recognize and protect yourself from phishing attacks:

  • Be Skeptical: Always be cautious when receiving unsolicited emails, especially those requesting personal or sensitive information. Verify the sender’s email address and examine the content for inconsistencies.
  • Check URLs: Hover your mouse cursor over links to reveal their actual destination. Be cautious of links that don’t match their displayed text or that lead to unfamiliar websites.
  • Avoid Clicking on Suspicious Links: Do not click on links or download attachments from unknown or unexpected sources. If a link or attachment seems suspicious, verify its legitimacy with the sender through a separate communication channel.
  • Double-Check Email Addresses: Pay attention to slight variations in email addresses
    (e.g., username@jumbogroup.com.sg vs. username@jumb0group.com.sg).
  • Report Suspicious Activity: If you receive a suspicious email, report it to the IT department immediately. We can help determine if the email is legitimate and block it if it’s a potential threat.

To report suspicious cybersecurity incidents, email help@jumbogroup.com.sg . Remember, your vigilance plays a crucial role in safeguarding our organization’s data and reputation.

Regards,
